The part of life that isn't anyone else's business.
The short version.
- The Rememberly app does not collect, transmit, or store your data on our servers.
- The notes, names, and details you add live on your device.
- Optional iCloud sync is end-to-end encrypted by Apple. We can't read it.
- No analytics, no crash trackers, no advertising IDs, no third parties inside the app.
- The only thing we ever ask for is an email address — and only if you join the waitlist.
The Rememberly app
What we don't collect
We do not collect any personal information through the Rememberly app. There are no accounts, no logins, no profiles you create with us. We do not see what you write about the people in your life. We do not know who you are, what device you're on, or how often you open the app.
Where your data lives
Everything you create in Rememberly — people, notes, dates, photos, anything you add — is stored locally on your device. It does not leave your iPhone or iPad unless you choose to back it up.
iCloud backup & sync (optional)
If you choose to enable iCloud sync, your Rememberly data is stored in your private iCloud account. Apple encrypts this data end-to-end, which means even Apple cannot read it, and we certainly cannot. iCloud sync is off by default. You can turn it off at any time in the app's settings.
Permissions
If you grant the app a system permission — notifications, photo access, contacts import — that permission is between you and your device. None of the data those permissions touch is sent to us.
Exporting and deleting
Your data is yours to leave with. You can export everything to plain JSON or Markdown at any time, or delete everything in a single tap from Settings.
The waitlist on rememberly.app
If you sign up on this website, we collect your email address. We use it to send you a TestFlight invite when a seat opens up, and occasionally to share something genuinely worth your attention — for example, that the app has launched, or that something meaningful has changed.
We err on the side of fewer emails, not more. There's no newsletter, no marketing sequence, and we don't sell or share your address with anyone. If you ever want off the list, write to hello@rememberly.app and we'll remove you.
Third parties
The Rememberly app does not include any third-party SDKs, analytics tools, advertising networks, or trackers. There is no third party reading your data because there is no transmission of your data.
The only third parties involved at all are:
- Apple iCloud, if you opt in to sync — covered by Apple's privacy policy and end-to-end encrypted.
- Apple TestFlight, if you join the beta — Apple operates beta distribution and may collect their own diagnostics from the TestFlight app, independent of us.
- Our email host, used to send the TestFlight invite and any occasional updates to people on the waitlist.
Children
Rememberly is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their email through the waitlist form, please write to us and we will remove it.
Your rights
Because we don't collect personal data through the app, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf — the data inside the app is on your device, under your control. For the waitlist email address, you may request access, correction, or deletion at any time by writing to hello@rememberly.app.
If you are in the EU, UK, or California, the same rights apply — we just have very little of your information to act on.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change is material — meaning it affects what we collect or how we use it — we'll let you know inside the app before it takes effect.
